Every penny raised allows us to continue to run our unique social clubs, one-to-one support services and Greenfingers community gardening project.

What sort of things can I do to fundraise?

Whatever you like! You could choose an organised event or challenge which suits you. Local examples include:

• Basingstoke half marathon
• Abseiling – take part in an organised event to abseil off Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower
• Cycling – take part in a local or national bike race
• Walking – Join a local or national event or set yourself a challenge to walk 500 miles or 10,000 steps each day

• Dress down day at work
• Hold a cake bake sale at work or amongst your friends.
• Nominate Basingstoke Mencap for your workplace Charity of the Year partnership
• Give as you shop
• Amazon Smile
• Give as you live
• Christmas/Summer party
• Give in celebration – in place of Christmas presents or cards or even wedding and birthday presents, ask your friends and family to make a donation on your behalf to Basingstoke Mencap.
• Help us organise supermarket collection days
• Funniest Christmas jumper/hat competition
• Habits – Give up an unhealthy habit or start a new healthy habit and get sponsored
• Organise a golf day or quiz night
• Help us fundraise at our garden open days and events
• Ask your company to match fund the amount of money you raise
• Donate monthly through your salary – such a great tax-efficient way of giving to charity
• Ask your company to sponsor one of our social activity groups or Greenfingers community project.
